शिवनृपरूपेणोर्वीमव
तीर्णोय: स्वयं प्रभु र्विष्णू: ।

Translation in English
“Shri Mahadev
Shri Tuljabhavani
God Vishnu has himself taken birth on this earth in the form of Shiva.
This his seal, promising safety to the terrestrial globe triumphs.”
The phrase on both seals are in Sanskrit. It is noteworthy that seals of all earlier Maratha sardar’s including Shahaji raje and Rajmata Jijabai were in Farsi.
Shivaji Maharaj’s seal was probably the first one in his time and place to be coined in Sanskrit.
This is the Royal seal of Shivaji, the first Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire. The script is Devanagari and language Sanskrit. It is usually stamped on the head of the letter, and in some cases, back. Loosely translated, it reads, "Ever growing in splendour like the moon on the first day of the bright half of the month, and adored by the world, this seal of Shivaji, the son of Shahaji, shines for the benediction of all"
